2022 Speakers

Larsen Mettler
Larsen brings over 17 years of experience in the oceans and finance sectors. Prior to joining S2G, Larsen was an owner and the Chief Financial Officer of Silver Bay Seafoods, a position he held since 2016. Before joining Silver Bay, Larsen was a Director at KeyBanc Capital Markets where he led the firm’s Seafood Investment Banking and Corporate Lending practice. Larsen has also held various positions with the United Nations, the Executive Office of the President of the United States, and DoubleClick. Larsen holds an MBA with a concentration in Investment Banking from Wake Forest and Dual BBAs in Finance and Information Systems from the University of New Mexico.

Howard Tang
Howard Tang is CEO of Peritus Capital, a sustainability focused investment firm focused on supporting and financing the aquaculture, alternative protein, and renewable energy sectors.
Previously, Howard was with the Mergermarket Group (now Acuris), leading the company's global fixed income research and analytics team. He helped to grow the business into a billion-dollar company through multiple strategic and private equity exits.
Howard then launched a business finance company called Simpler Funding that preceded an equity investment into Nordic aquaculture focused advisor. Howard eventually joined the latter full time as Managing Director and Head of Global Capital Markets; in this role he helped scale the firm into a global business, structuring complex financial solutions for some of the top seafood companies in the world.
Howard holds a CFA designation and Series 63, 7, 79, 24, and 27 licenses.

In 2014, Matthieu founded Singapore-based VisVires New Protein (VVNP), the first venture fund in
Asia exclusively focused on finding disruptive solutions for our global food and feed system.
Unrestricted by geographical boundaries, VVNP strives to uncover impactful solutions that
address the unmet challenges of our food system. VVNP has evolved quite a bit since its inception.
It now operates two funds with a presence in Singapore and London. Its portfolio of 10 companies
includes Ÿnsect in France, In Ovo in the Netherlands, Aleph Farms in Israel, and Mushlabs in
Germany.
Matthieu has over 25 years’ experience in investment management. Most recently, as Senior
Managing Director, Director of Research as well as a member of the Executive and Investment
committees of Everest Capital. Prior to that, he was with Banque Paribas in Hong Kong, New York,
Taipei, and Paris.

Matilda Lomas
Matilda Lomas is the Biology & Cleanerfish Coordinator for Bakkafrost Scotland. She is responsible for the sourcing and strategic deployment of wrasse and lumpfish into salmon pens across all of the company's sea sites along the west coast and Western Isles. Matilda is a member of Women in Scottish Aquaculture's advisory board and has worked in the Scottish aquaculture industry for eight years.

Alex MacInnes

Justin Sherrard
As Global Strategist Animal Protein, Justin Sherrard is responsible for the timely and agenda-setting analysis of issues of strategic importance to animal protein companies around the world.
In his research and client engagement, Justin focusses on business opportunities in animal protein through, for example, increased production efficiencies, better access to growth markets and stronger supply chain models.
Prior to his current role, Justin has worked at RaboResearch Food & Agribusiness as Global Manager Research, Global Strategist F&A Supply Chains, and General Manager of Food & Agribusiness Research for Rabobank in Australia and New Zealand. He joined Rabobank in 2009.
Justin has also worked as an independent advisor to leading blue chip companies, not-for-profit organisations and governments, applying his knowledge of food & agribusiness, energy and natural resources issues, including sustainability and climate change.
Justin has over 20 years of global experience having worked in Europe, the United States, Latin America, New Zealand as well as his native Australia. He holds a Master of Applied Science and Bachelor of Science from the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia.

Chloé Phan Van Phi
Chloé Phan Van Phi is the VP of Sales and Marketing at Innovafeed. Her role involves working with all stakeholders in the aquaculture industry to build together sustainable and economically sound value chains. As an example, Innovafeed partnered with the French retailer Auchan to commercialize the first insect-powered value chains in the world, starting with trout, followed by poultry and swine offering.
Prior to Innovafeed, Chloé worked as a project leader at Oliver Wyman and at the International Finance Corporation where she worked on infrastructure projects in Sub-Saharan Africa. She holds a Master of International Affairs from Johns Hopkins SAIS in the US and a Master of Science from the Ecole Polytechnique in France.
